Webster City girls tennis blanks Hampton-Dumont-CAL

The Webster City girls tennis team returned to action on Monday afternoon, as they hosted a fellow North Central Conference foe in the Bulldogs of Hampton-Dumont-CAL at Webster City High School. The Bulldogs entered with an 0-3 record.

Beginning with singles, it was a dominating performance from the start. Joslin Gourley took the position 1 match over Aspen Harlan, as Mackenzie Burney took position 2 over Jessica Martinez. In position 3, it was Kayley Wibholm blanking Shelby Rowe 6-0, as Trinity Griffin also blanked Lily Mason in position 4 6-0. Makaylee Draeger defeated Jaliyah Ivey in position 5, and Jordyn Sullivan topped Heather Howery in position 6.

Webster City would dominate in the doubles as well, with Joslin Gourley and Kayley Wibholm scoring a 6-1 victory in position 1, followed up by a 6-0 victory by Makaylee Draeger and Mackenzie Burney position 2. Trinity Griffith and Jordyn Sullivan sealed the shut out with a 6-2 win in position 3.

The Lynx are slated to return to action on Tuesday, when they travel down Highway 17 to face off with the Boone Toreadors at McHose Park in Boone.
