The Webster City girls soccer team made the trip east on Friday evening, to face off with North Central Conference foe Hampton-Dumont-CAL at Hampton-Dumont-CAL High School. The Lynx entered with a 1-9 record, while the Bulldogs entered with a 1-7 record.
The Lynx stormed out of the gates in the first half, putting three goals on the board against the Bulldogs, and held that 3-0 lead at halftime. Hampton-Dumont-CAL would get on the board in the 2nd half with a pair of goals, but Webster City was able to match the 3 first half goals with 3 second half goals, to pick up a 6-2 win over the conference foe.
It was a breakout performance for freshman Olivia Gallentine, who scored a hat trick, hitting 3 of her 4 shots on goal. Sophomore Jillian Symens finished with 2 goals, while senior Shelby Queen added her 4th goal on the season as well.
Next action for the Lynx will be on Monday night, as the Lynx host the Clear Lake Lions at Webster City High School.
