The Roland-Story Norsemen girls golf team returned to action on Tuesday, facing off with the Cowgirls of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows at Riverbend Golf Course in Story City. The Norsemen entered with a 5-0 record, while CGD entered at 3-3.
Roland-Story got a strong showing from the top 3 in their lineup, with sophomore Makenna Carlson shooting a 41 (+5) to lead the way for the Norsemen. Senior Ellie Erickson shot a 43 (+7), while fellow senior Mersadie Franklin shot a 45 (+9).
The middle to back part of the Norsemen lineup shot consistently as well, as sophomore Grace Corcoran shot a 55 (+11), junior Courtney Shaiver shot a 57 (+13) and senior Addison Heubner shot a 59 (+15) as Roland-Story rolled to a 184-230 decision over the Cowgirls.
Roland-Story will return to action with the Roland-Story Invitational at Riverbend Golf Course on Friday, while Clarion-Goldfield-Dows will return to action on Friday with a triangular at Clarmond Country Club in Clear Lake.
