Two juveniles facing charges in weekend incident in Webster City.

On April 23, 2022 at 1546 hours, the Webster City Police Department received a report of individuals in a black SUV shooting air soft guns. Reports were that the vehicle was occupied by high school students and shots were being fired from out of the windows of the SUV.
An officer observed a black SUV matching the description of the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle for an equipment violation. The vehicle stopped at the Yesway store located at 1102 Second Street in Webster City. When the officer approached the vehicle, he observed two airsoft guns in the back seat of the vehicle as well as a traffic cone identified as belonging to the City of Webster City.
The officer identified the occupants of the vehicle as three juveniles from the Webster City area. After conducting an investigation into the matter, officers referred two juveniles to juvenile court for delinquent acts.
One juvenile was referred for two counts of assault for shooting two individuals with the airsoft guns. A second juvenile was referred for one count of possession of stolen property for possessing the traffic cone and cited for violation of a school driver’s permit. All three juveniles were released to parents.
Due to the two suspects and one passenger being juveniles, their names are not being released.
