Roland-Story girls host Girls Norsemen Relays

The Roland-Story girls track and field team hosted their annual track meet on Thursday night with the Girls Norsemen Relays at Roland-Story High School. Teams in attendance included Bondurant-Farrar, Collins-Maxwell, Gilbert, Lake Mills, Nevada, North Polk, PCM, South Hardin and West Marshall.

Roland-Story would get a runner-up finish from Madison Giese in the discus, with a throw of 108′ 10″, while Macy Friest placed 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 35′ 9″. The Norsemen would place 3rd and 4th in the long jump, with Adalyn Sporleder jumping 15′ 9.5″ and Laurel Osborn jumping 15′ 6″.

The Norsemen saw 1 individual champion on the oval on Thursday, as Claire Truesdell won the 1500 meter run in a time of 5:31.37. Roland-Story would also get a 7th place finish in the 3200 from Baylie Janssen and an 8th place finish in the 400 meter dash from Madi Bauer, as well as an 8th place finish from Carly Halstead in the 100 meter hurdles.

In the relays, Roland-Story would get a 2nd place finish in the sprint medley in a time of 1:53.15. The Norsemen also scored a 3rd place finish in the 4×200 in a time of 1:49.84, 5th in the 4×400 in a time of 4:34.30, 6th in the distance medley in a time of 4:51.74, and 8th in the 4×100 in a time of 55.45.

Roland-Story would finish 6th in the team standings with 64 points, while Bondurant-Farrar won the meet with 138 points.
