Hamilton County saw a drop in its unemployment rate for March. The Iowa Workforce Development office announced Tuesday that the rate for last month was at 3.2 percent. In Februrary,Hamilton County’s unemployment rate was 3.4 percent and in March,2021, the rate was 4.7 percent. This translates to 6,790 residents who were employed and 230 people who were unemployed in March. The unemployment rates for surrounding counties last month included Boone County at 2.8 percent, Franklin at 3.1 percent, Hardin at 3.7 percent, Story at 2.1 percent, Webster County at 3.4 percent and Wright at 3.2 percent. Iowa’s unemployment rate for March was at 3.3 percent down from the February rate of 3.5 percent. See less
