The Webster City Lynx soccer teams returned to the field on Monday night, to take on the Broncos of Belmond-Klemme at Belmond-Klemme High School. The Broncos boys entered at 0-4, while the Broncos girls entered at 0-2.
The girls game for the Lynx, belonged to Shelby Queen. After Belmond-Klemme held a 1-0 lead going into halftime, Queen scored a goal in the 2nd half to tie the match at 1-1 before it headed into overtime. The first overtime period remained scoreless, and with 7 minutes left in the 2nd overtime period, Queen struck again, giving Webster City a 2-1 win.
The boys game followed as Webster City’s boys were looking for their first win of the year, following losses to Humboldt and Garner-Hayfield-Ventura. The Lynx took a 2-1 lead into the halftime locker room, and managed to tack on a pair of goals in the 2nd half to take home a 4-1 win.
The Lynx soccer teams return to action on Thursday, when they travel to Hampton to face off with Hampton-Dumont-CAL.
