Eagle Grove boys compete in the Dodger Relays

The Eagle Grove boys track and field team made the short trip south and west on Monday night, to compete in the Dodger Relays at Dodger Stadium in Fort Dodge. The Eagles were joined by Waukee Northwest, Marshalltown, Boone, Humboldt, Mason City, St. Edmond, Des Moines East and the host Dodgers.

In the individual events on the track, the lone placer was Tate Richardson in the 200, finishing in a time of 24.49. The Eagles did have a solid day in field events, as Gabriel Binkerd placed 8th in the discus with a throw of 107′. In the shot put, Peyton Larsen placed 5th with a throw of 43′ 1″, while Cayden Schultz finished 4th in the high jump, clearing 5′ 10″.

In the relays, Eagle Grove placed 8th in the 4×100 in a time of 48.49, but placed 3rd in the 4×200 in a time of 1:36.39. The Eagles placed 7th in the 4×400 in a time of 3:48.08, and then placed 7th in the shuttle hurdle in a time of 1:12.81. Eagle Grove would then place 3rd in the Sprint Medley in a time of 1:41.20, and placed 5th in the distance medley, in a time of 4:04.51.

Eagle Grove would finish 8th in the meet with 32 points. Waukee Northwest won with 191 points.
