Jewell city council meeting is set for Monday evening,April 11.

Plans for the annual Jewell Jubilee celebration will be presented to the Jewell city council at their meeting this Monday evening,April 11 at 7:00 in the city hall council chambers. The council will consider requests from the Jewell Jubilee committee for a liquor license,a fireworks permit and an Iowa DOT road closing permit. The council will have a public hearing at 7:15 to sell a 1988 Chevrolet Toyne front mount pumper/tanker from the Jewell fire department.  A building lease and liquor license for Jewell Market will be discussed. The first reading of an ordinance to install a stop sign at the intersection of Division and Carmichael will be on the agenda. An annual funding request  and the use of the concession building for South Hamilton Area Youth Soccer will be presented to the council for review.

In other matters, the Jewell council will consider a grant from POET for a park playground quote for repairs, review a quote from JR Enterprise for repairing the roof to the water plant and a review for the Jewell capital improvement plan plus other matters.
