Webster City girls soccer drops 1-0 decision to Humboldt

The Webster City girls soccer team hit the road on Monday night, for their North Central Conference opener as they took on rival Humboldt at the Humboldt Soccer Field. The Wildcats were fresh off a season-opening 5-0 win over Belmond-Klemme, Webster City fell to Garner-Hayfield-Ventura 3-2 their last time out.

The first period remained quiet for both sides, until Humboldt freshman Elsie Hubbell broke the scoreless tie to put the Wildcats up 1-0 in the first half. The defensive chess match would last throughout the remainder of the game as Humboldt took in a 1-0 victory over Webster City.

The Lynx return to action on Thursday, when they travel to Clear Lake to take on the Lions at Clear Lake High School.
