Cast announced for WCCT production of “Church Basement Ladies 2:A Second Helping”.

“Church Basement Ladies: a Second Helping,” the Webster City Community Theatre’s summer show, is already in production. Cast includes Crystal Gordon (Vivian Snustad), Sunshine Duffy (Karin Egleson), Melissa Hindt (Mavis Gilmerson), Greta Nelson (Beverly Egleson), and Dane Barner (Pastor E.L. Gunderson).
In this sequel to Church Basement Ladies, it’s 1969, five years later. The Vietnam war and women’s fight for equal pay are headline news. The world is changing and the ladies of the rural Minnesota Lutheran church basement kitchen are facing changes of their own.
Church Basement Ladies 2: A Second Helping takes us from serving a high school Luther League banquet to a church sponsored Missionary Night to the excitement and frustration of a Vikings Super Bowl Sunday to the baptism of new life. From elderly matriarch to young mom-to-be, these women find strength in each other as they as they deal with life’s joys and upheavals with lively humor, grace, and sisterly love from the kitchen below the House of God.
Production crew includes director Wil Groves; assistant director Angela Rottering; music director Dane Barner; and choreographer Lindsay Henderson. Show runs July 8-10 and 13-17 at the WCCT theater, 1001 Willson Avenue in Webster City.
