Fort Dodge man facing charges after a high speed chase Wednesday afternoon.

A high speed chase through two counties ended with the apprehension of a Fort Dodge man late Wednesday afternoon. Law enforcement authorities received a call  of a man that had assaulted an individual  and was possession of a firearm. The individual that was assaulted stated that the man was in black Toyota Tacoma in the Pleasant Valley area of Fort Dodge. At approximately 4:18 Wednesday afternoon, a Webster County Sheriff’s deputy located the  vehicle on 17th Street Southwest in Fort Dodge and initiated a traffic stop based on the reporting party’s alleged assault. The driver of the vehcile then led Webster County deputies and Fort Dodge Police offices on a lengthy pursuit through Fort Dodge, rural Webster County, rural Humboldt County and through the city of Humboldt with speeds reaching approximately 110 miles per hour. Officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department were able to successfully deploy stop sticks in the area of 175th Street and Highway 169 just north of Fort Dodge striking the suspect vehicle’s front passenger side tire. The suspect led officers and deputies back into Fort Ddoge on First Avenue South before traveling eastbound on Fifth Avenue South. After losing the passenger side tire, the suspect vehicle had a minor collistion with another motorist on Fifth Avenue South. At this point pursuing officers requested and were granted the use of Tactical Vehicle Intervention to stop the pursuit.  The chase ended at the intersection of Fifth Avenue South and South 25th Street when the vehicle the suspect was driving became inoperable. Officers then arrested the driver identified as 19 year old Chipper Cisco of Fort Dodge. Cisco is facing charges of Eluding, First Degree Theft and multiple traffic offenses. Cisco is being held in the Webster County Jail in Fort Dodge on a $10,000 cash bond with additional charges still pending. The incident remains under investigation.
