Hamilton County saw a drop in its unemployment rate for February. The Iowa Workforce Development office reported today (Tuesday) the rate for last month was 3.4 percent. In January,Hamlton County’s unemployment rate was at an even 4 percent. In February, 2021, the rate was at 4.7 percent. This translates into 6,810 people working in Hamilton County in February with 240 people without work.The unemployment rates for surrounding counties in February included Boone County at 2.9 percent, Frankin County at 3.6 percent,Hardin County at 4 percent, Story County at 2 percent, Webster County at 3.8 percent and Wright County at 3.5 percent.
Iowa’s unemployment rate for February was at 3.5 percent which was down slightly from the January rate at 3.7 percent.
