As a new golf season is set to begin April 1 at Briggs Woods Golf Course south of Webster City,the Hamilton County Conservation Board learned Wednesday morning that Travis Rolfs has resigned as clubhouse manager and golf pro for the course. The pro shop contract at Briggs Woods Golf Course was tabled until a future meeting. Conservation director Brian Lammers said the search will begin on finding a new manager.
The camping season at Briggs Woods, Bells Mill and Little Wall Lake parks is about to get started. Plans call the campgrounds to reopen the first weekend of April. For reservations and fee information, please call Hamilton County Conservation at 515-832-9570 or go online to mycountyparks.com.
In other matters at Wednesday’s meeting, the conservtion board approved a five year contract with Marco,Incorporated for the lease of an office copier for the conservation office. The memorandum of understanding with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources for sign maintenance and boat access maintenance along the Boone River Water Trail.
The next meeting of the Hamilton County Conservation Board will be on Thursday, April 28 at 9:30 at the Briggs Woods Conservation office.
