Doug Bailey was welcomed as the newest member of the Van Diest Medical Center board of trustees at the monthly meeting of the board on Tuesday evening.Bailey is a former Hamilton County Supervisor. He succeeds long time board member Roberta Knutson who died on New Year’s Day. Bailey said he is looking forward to his time on the hospital board addressing the challenges of the rural hospital and coming off two years of the pandemic.
Donations continue to come in for the infusion center renovation project. The Van Diest Medical Center board learned that $89,970 has been raised towards the work. The goal is to reach $100,000. Peterson Construciton of Webster City will be in charge of the work. No timeline has been set for the renovation of the infusion center.
The Van Diest Medical Center board Tuesday night approved over $57,785 worth of capital requests. They include new medical equipment and furniture.
A retirement coffee for longtime chief financial officer Alice Heinrichs is planned for this Thursday,March 24 from 1:00 until 3:00 p,m. Heinrichs is retiring on March 31 after 30 years with the local hospital.
