Search for new Webster City school board member to begin Monday evening at board meeting.

When the Webster City Community School Board meets this Monday evening at 6:00, there will be a discussion on finding a new school board member. This is due to the death on March 14th of board member Marlin Pruismann. The school board will present their intial proposals to the members of the Webster City Education Association and the Webster City Educational Services Association for the 2022-23 school year. The date of April 11 will be set for the public hearing for the Webster City school budget for the 2022-23 fiscal year. There will also be the approval of the 2022-23 school calendar.

Webster City school board members this Monday will recieve a special education contract for student services with the Des Moines Independent Community School District and to approve  a cooperative agreement with the University of Northern Iowa for the placement of students going into the teaching profession. A memorandum of agreement will be approved with the Iowa Department of Human Services  for serving children and foster care. The board will consider approving the AEA purchasing agreement, approve the Mojo Productions DJ Service contract. A fund raising request from the high school baseball team for adrenaline fundraising cards and relief in the bullpen.

The board will accept the resignations of Joe Shanks as 7th through 12th  activities director and Marty McKinney as head boys basketball coach. There will be recommendations of Elizabeth Burton as middle school vocal music and general music instructor,Brian Peterson as second grade teacher, Jessica Buffington as a third grade teacher, Melissa Lammers as Lego League coach., Rafferty Naughton as a seventh grade assistant football coach, Taylor McKinney as assistant varsity baseball coach, Ben Rasmussen as assistant boys and girls coach, and Jeff Pagel as high school custodian. There will be the transfer of Rafferty Naughton from  sixth grade teacher to fifth grade teacher,Renee Woodall from special education/ELL to 100 percent special education and Kevin Farwell from high school custodian to head custodian at Sunset Heights elementary. The rescinding of the resignation of Shylo Olson will be discussed.

Superintendent Dr. Mandy Ross will present her report  to the board plus other matters. The board meeting will be held at the school office at 820 Des Moines Street.
