Webster City basketball travels to Waverly on Monday

The Webster City Lynx boys basketball team will open up postseason play on Monday night as they travel to Waverly to face off with the Go-Hawks of Waverly-Shell Rock. Waverly-Shell Rock enters postseason play with a 13-8 record and finished 2nd in the Northeast Iowa Conference.

Monday is the 2nd time the two schools have met this season, with Waverly-Shell Rock winning the first meeting 48-46 in late January in Webster City. The Go-Hawks are led by a pair of double-digit scorers in sophomore Cole Marsh and senior Keaton Farmer. Marsh averages 13.5 PPG, as well as leading the team in rebounding at 4.7 RPG. Farmer enters averaging at 12.8 PPG as well.

Webster City will hope to have junior guard Ty McKinney back at full-strength, after McKinney left Thursday’s game against Boone with a hip contusion.

Tipoff has been moved to 6 PM at Waverly-Shell Rock High School, due to impending winter weather.
