The South Hamilton Hawks boys basketball team closed out their regular season at home on Thursday night, when they hosted the Knights of Carroll Kuemper. Carroll Kuemper entered the night with a 10-10 record as members of the Hawkeye 10 Conference.
The Hawks were able to keep pace with the Knights throughout the night, trailing 17-13 after the first quarter. South Hamilton did pick up a big 2nd quarter, as they were tied with the Knights at halftime at 33 a piece. Kuemper’s defense picked up in the 3rd quarter, as they took a 49-43 lead into the 4th, where the Knights were able to keep the Hawks at arms length and pick up a 62-57 win. Landon Grove led the Hawks with 14 points.
South Hamilton returns to action on Monday, when they will face Dike-New Hartford at South Hardin High School for their Class 2A District-Opener at 6:30 PM in Eldora.
