The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys basketball team will hit the road for the final time in the regular season on Thursday night, when they travel to Gowrie to face off with the Southeast Valley Jaguars of the Twin Lakes Conference. The Jaguars come into Thursday night with a 10-10 record.
The Jaguars are led by the one-two scoring punch of seniors Aaron Graves and Kolson Kruse. Graves, an Iowa football-commit, leads the Jaguars in scoring, averaging 20.8 PPG, as well as a team-high 8.1 RPG. He will meet one of his toughest tests in the season in CGD center Connor State, who played a great defensive game against Hampton-Dumont-CAL on Tuesday night.
Kolson Kruse enters averaging 19.3 PPG, while shooting 46.5% from the field, and nearly 41% from 3-point range. Kruse also leads the team in assists with 3.5 per contest, and flaunts a 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. It will be up to Jaxon Carpenter, and perhaps Aiden Harrington, to slow down the Jaguars star guard.
Tipoff is slated for 7:30 at Southeast Valley High School in Gowrie.
