The Webster City Lynx basketball teams will make the drive north on I-35 on Tuesday night, to face off with the Clear Lake Lions in North Central Conference play. The Clear Lake girls are 15-4 and ranked #10 in Class 3A, while the Clear Lake boys are 13-4.
The girls game showcases a Clear Lake team that clinched their 3rd consecutive NCC title on Friday night with a dominating 70-19 win over Fort Dodge, St. Edmond. Clear Lake is led by senior Jaden Ainley, who is averaging over 19 PPG, while shooting nearly 53% from the field. Senior guard Emily Theiss has stepped up her scoring output, averaging nearly 10 PPG, while shooting nearly 42% from the field. Xada Johnson continues to be a forceful presence on the low block as well.
The boys game shows a Clear Lake team looking to solidify themselves as the #3 team in the conference with a win against a Webster City team that gave them a tough challenge in Webster City back in January. Senior guard Carson Toebe continues to be outstanding for the Lions, averaging 20.4 PPG, 6 RPG and 3 APG, and shooting nearly 46% from the field. Thomas Meyer continues his stellar freshman season, averaging nearly 11.5 PPG and shooting nearly 43% from 3.
Tipoff is slated for 6:15 PM at Clear Lake High School.
