Webster City basketball swept by Iowa Falls-Alden on Friday

The girls game was a slow one from the start, as the defenses dominated. The Cadets held a 6-5 lead after the first quarter, only extended to 13-11 by halftime. However, it was Iowa Falls-Alden who caught fire in the 2nd half, as an 18-5 margin in he 3rd quarter helped the Cadets pull away for a 45-33 win. Ella Sharar led the Cadets with 15 points, while Alley Odland finished with 9 for Webster City.

The boys game followed with the Lynx looking to keep themselves in the top half of the NCC Standings, however, the Cadets had other ideas. Iowa Falls-Alden led 15-10 after the first, extending it to 30-18 at halftime, as the Lynx struggled on the offensive end. Webster City would come to life in the 2nd half, outscoring the Cadets 30-26, but that would not be enough as Iowa Falls-Alden scored a 56-48 victory. Blake Janssen finished with 16 for the Cadets, while Ty McKinney finished with 19 for the Lynx.

Webster City returns to action on Tuesday night, when they will travel to Clear Lake to face the Lions.
