The Webster City Lynx basketball teams return to action on Tuesday night, when they make the short trip west on old Highway 20, to face off with the Gaels of Fort Dodge, St. Edmond. The Gael girls enter with an 0-17 record, while the Gael boys enter with a 7-10 record.
The girls game kicks things off with St. Edmond still searching for their first win of 2021-22 season. The Gaels turned the ball over more than 30 times in their first meeting, which resulted in a 46-24 win for the Lynx. St. Edmond is led in scoring by senior Gracie Harvey, who averages 7.2 PPG, and leads the team in assists with 1.5 APG. Junior Katie Flaherty leads the team in rebounding at 4.7 RPG.
The boys game follows with a battle of two teams sitting around .500 on the season. The Lynx currently sit at 8-7 and 4th in the conference, while St. Edmond is 7-10, but dead last in the conference. St. Edmond is led by senior Hayden Mayer, who is averaging over 18 PPG and shooting an eye-popping 50% from three. Junior guard Jackson Palmer leads the Gaels in assists with 3.1 APG, while scoring nearly 10 PPG.
Tipoff is slated at 6:15 PM at St. Edmond High School In Fort Dodge.
