Eagle Grove basketball hosts North Union on Tuesday

The Eagle Grove basketball teams return to the hardwood after a week off on Tuesday night, as they host the Warriors of North Union at Eagle Grove Elementary School. The North Union girls are 11-4, while the North Union boys are 6-10.

The girls game gets underway first, as the Eagles look to snap their 6-game losing streak, but have another daunting task in front of them. North Union is led in scoring and rebounding by senior Sam Nielsen, who averages over 9 PPG and 7.5 RPG as well. Sophomore Naomi Jones stands close by as she averages 8.7 PPG this season. Eagle Grove is looking for a big night from junior Braxton Steil.

The boys game follows with Eagle Grove trying to bounce back following a loss to Algona Bishop Garrigan. North Union enters as they’re led by sophomore Aiden Lofstrom, who leads the team in points and rebounds, averaging over 11 PPG and over 4.5 RPG. Junior Logan Odegaard presents and outside threat for the Warriors, shooting 27% from three-point range.

Tipoff is slated for 6:15 PM at Eagle Grove Elementary School.
