Duncombe preparing to celebrate 150 years as a community in 2022.

The Webster County community of Duncombe has a reason to celebrate in 2022.It’s their 150th birthday. The Duncombe Betterment Committee has announced the dates of July 15 to 17 for the community celebration. Further details on what will be taking place during the celebration will be announced in the next few months. The town of Duncombe is in the midst of a community can drive to help fund the event. Residents are invited to bring their aluminum cans and plastic bottles in a can collection  located behind the fire station in their new gravel lot on Main Street. There will be another fund raising event set for Saturday,March 5 at the Duncombe Recreation Center. It will be a Spring Vendor and Craft Fair from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. There will be free admission for everyone. The hours will be from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. There is more information at the Duncombe Betterment Committee Facebook page. Previous fund raising events for the celebration include a dinner with Santa Claus and a Chili Cook Off.
