The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows basketball teams return to action on Friday night, as they travel to Iowa Falls to take on the Cadets of Iowa Falls-Alden in North Central Conference action. The Cadet girls enter 5-11, while the Cadet boys enter at 10-6.
The girls game gets underway at 6:15, with CGD looking to bounce back following a 59-28 loss to Class 3A #11 Clear Lake on Tuesday. IF-A has been led by sophomore Ella Sharar this season, as the sophomore is averaging 14 PPG and shooting nearly 30% from three, Sharar also leads the team in rebounding with 8.6 RPG. Junior Hailey Bridgewater is averaging just over 7 PPG for the Cadets.
The boys game follows as Clarion-Goldfield-Dows looks to build off their first season sweep of Clear Lake in the 21st century. The Cowboys will look for a big night from Connor State, who will be working against a much smaller Iowa Falls-Alden lineup. The Cadet are led by senior Blake Janssen, who is averaging over 14 PPG and shooting over 34% from behind-the-arc. Junior Andrew Bicknese is also averaging 13 PPG, while hauling in 5 RPG.
Tipoff is slated for 6:15 PM at Iowa Falls-Alden High School in Iowa Falls.
