The Webster City basketball teams are back in action on Tuesday night, as they host the Bulldogs of Hampton-Dumont-CAL in North Central Conference action. The Bulldog girls are 11-4, while the Bulldog boys enter with a 7-6 record.
The girls game kicks things off at 6:15, as the Webster City girls are looking to pick up the 3rd win in the last 5 games, following their 44-22 win over Clarion-Goldfield-Dows. HD-CAL enters following the play of their dynamic duo of Lauren Meader and Avery Hanson. Hanson leads the Bulldogs in scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.5 PPG and nearly 8 RPG. Meader is second on the team in scoring and leads the team in assists, averaging 13.5 PPG and nearly 3.5 APG.
The boys game features two teams entering with similar 7-6, however Webster City remains in the top half of the rankings with a 4-4 conference mark, while Hampton-Dumont-CAL holds a 2-6 conference mark. Hampton-Dumont-CAL is led by senior Cal Heeren, who is averaging over 12 PPG and shooting over 40% from behind the arc. Sophomore Scott Harr leads the charge in the paint, averaging a double-double with 10.8 PPG and 11.3 RPG. Junior guard Marco Guerrero holds one of the best assist-to-turnover ratios in the conference as well.
