The Webster City Lynx basketball teams returns to action on Thursday night, when they take on the Cadets of Iowa Falls-Alden. The game was moved from Friday to Thursday due to the impending winter storm. The IF-A girls enter with a 3-9 record, while the IF-A boys enter with a 9-3 record.
The girls game showcases two teams in the NCC, that while 3-9, have shown marked improvement as the season has progressed. The Lynx have won 3 of their last 4 games, while IF-A defeated Charles City on Monday. The Cadets are led by sophomore Ella Sharar, who is averaging 13 PPG and just over 8 RPG on the season. Hailey Bridgewater has also been a key contributor for the Cadets this season, averaging over 7 PPG.
The boys game follows with two teams that are vying for positioning in the NCC standings as both teams enter with 3 losses, but having won 4 of their previous 5 games. Blake Janssen leads the Cadets in scoring with over 14.5 PPG and shooting 38% from behind-the-arc. Andrew Bicknese is 2nd on the team in scoring and rebounding.
