The South Hamilton wrestling team returned to tournament action on Saturday, when they traveled to Conrad to partake in the Storm Duals. Teams in attendance included the host Storm of BCLUW-South Hardin, Cedar Falls JV, Southeast Polk JV, Dike-New Hartford, Mason City Newman and Rockford.
South Hamilton began with pool action, as they fell to the host Storm by a score of 48-15. Brent Greenfield, Graham Peters and Braden Young were the only Hawks to score victories in the first match, with Greenfield scoring the only fall.
The Hawks then moved on to Cedar Falls JV squad, where they fell 48-27, with Brent Greenfield, Graham Peters, Ernie Taylor, Austin Busch and Keyton Remsburg all picking up wins. South Hamilton closed out pool play with Dike-New Hartford, as they fell 42-18. Greenfield, Busch and Remsburg picked up victories against the Wolverines.
South Hamilton entered the consolation bracket, where they face Mason City Newman in the opening round, and fell by a score of 42-27. South Hamilton picked up wins in 3 of the first 4 matches, starting at 182. However, Newman Catholic won 6 of the final 8 matches to secure the victory. The Hawks then faced Rockford in the final dual, picking up a 39-12 win. South Hamilton was aided by wins from Taylor, Busch, Remsburg, Young, Bandara, Duns and Greenfield.
The Hawks return to action on Tuesday, when they will compete in a triangular with Forest City and Belmond-Klemme.
