The Hamilton Soil and Water Conservation District announces a Farmer Conservation Roundtable discussion on February 9, 2022 at the Stanhope Community Center. The facilitated discussion, for and by farmers and landowners, who are interested in cover crops, strip-till or no-till, and relay cropping, will be held from 7:30 am to 9:30 am with a breakfast served.
The discussion will focus on points of interest to the farmers and landowners who have experience or are interested in implementing cover crops and strip-till or no-till. Topics may include cover crop and cash crop planting techniques and timing, relay cropping, what’s working for fertilizer and herbicide programs, and what methods of seeding cover crops are working in this area. All interested farmers and landowners are welcome whether they’ve used these conservation practices or not.
Agency and local non-governmental organizations and businesses supporting cover crop use will be in attendance.
RSVPs for the discussion are needed to help plan for food which is sponsored by the Hamilton Soil and Water Conservation District. 515-832-2916 ext. 3
