The South Hamilton basketball teams are back in action on Friday night, as they host the Mustangs of Prairie City-Monroe at Jim Marsh Court in Jewell. The Mustang girls currently sit at 3-8, while Mustang boys enter with a 6-6 record.
South Hamilton’s girls are fresh off a 69-48 win over Southeast Valley on Tuesday night, a game which saw the return of Hallee Feaker from a minor injury. Feaker is averaging 15.2 PPG and shooting nearly 40% from 3, while sophomore Makena Galetich leads the team in scoring, averaging 16 PPG. PCM is led by the Steenhoek sisters of Addison and Paige, as Addison leads the team in scoring at 8.8 PPG, while Paige averages 7 PPG.
The boys game follows with South Hamilton’s squad looking to continue their improved play. Defense and energy has been the key in the Hawks last two games, even as they fell short to Southeast Valley 45-40 on Tuesday. The high-powered Mustang offense is led by seniors Durant Van Dyke and Carson Vandelune, who both average nearly 17 PPG. Van Dyke leads the team in rebounding, while Vandelune leads the team in assists.
Tipoff for the girls is slated for 6:00 PM at South Hamilton High School, the boys will follow.
