The Webster City Lynx wrestlers kicked off the new year on Tuesday, as they made the journey north to Winnebago County, to face off with the Forest City Indians. The Lynx looked to use the dual to get themselves prepared to re-enter North Central Conference action.
The dual began at 170 pounds, where Webster City’s Evan Estlund set the tone for the night, picking up the fall over Forest City’s Trevor Siddell in the 2nd period. Following a Dylan Burnette-Bingham decision at 182 pounds, CJ Hisler, Jaxon Cherry and Landon Griffin all picked up falls consecutively, to put Webster City up 27-0 after just 5 weights.
Addison Scott took home a forfeit decision, before the 1-2 lightweight duo of Carson Doolittle and Cam Phetxoumphone picked up first period falls over their respective foes. The Lynx would drop the next two matches as Shad Wooge and Kellen Moore picked up wins for Forest City, before Luke Estlund, Jordan Vankham and Brady Jessen all picked up falls to cement the Lynx’s 69-10 win.
Webster City wrestling returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Hampton to face off in a dual with Hampton-Dumont-CAL
