Rick Young of Jewell has been named as the chairman of the Hamilton County Supervisors for 2022. He was elected during the annual reorganizational meeting of the board held Monday morning. Young succeeds Dan Campidilli as the chairman. Jerry Kloberdanz was named chairman pro tem for 2022.
The supervisors authorized the county auditor to make all budgeted transfers of county funds and authorizing the county assessor to allow homestead exemptions for 2022. A list of road closings due to construction projects for this year were approved. The work will include a portion of Ubben Avenue in Williams Township, 230th and Rose Grove Avenue and various areas due to damage from the recent storms in Hamilton County.Other projects will include Xircus Avenue in Scott Township, 300th Street in Lyon Township, Tucker Avenue in Williams Township and 230th Street in Liberty Township. The work would begin some time this summer. Availa Bank, First State Bank and WCF Financial Bank in Webster City, the Iowa Falls State Bank of Williams and Security Savings Bank of Stratford were each named depositories in which county funds may be invested.
An agreement to combine township and city precincts with the city of Webster City was approved by the supervisors. This is due to the change in the census figures from 2020.
A resolution for EMS as an essential service in Hamilton County was approved by the board. Hours for the courthouse will remain the same in 2022 from 8:00 until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Fridays. The holidays for 2022 for the courthouse were set. The next holiday will be the Martin Luther King,Jr. Day on January 17. Supervisor meetings will continue to be on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 9:00 a.m.
