The Eagle Grove basketball teams return from winter break on Monday night, when they host the Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard in a non-conference matchup. The Wolverines, members of the Twin Lakes Conference, currently have similar records for both their men’s and women’s squads at 2-5.
Eagle Grove’s girls are searching for their first win of the season as they turn the page to 2022, as Nadia Kaiser continues to lead the way for the Eagles. West Bend-Mallard has been led by sophomore star Kierstin Montag, who has averaged nearly 18 PPG, along with 12.3 RPG. Freshman Hailey Stalzer is the Wolverines 2nd-leading scorer with 7.3 PPG.
The Eagle Grove boys will look to pick up their 2nd-win of the season against West Bend-Mallard. Drake Canavan continues to lead an ever-improving Eagles squad, averaging just under 13 PPG. Junior Jaxon Morris continues his breakout campaign, averaging over 7 PPG. West Bend-Mallard holds three, double-digit scorers in juniors Sam and Max Fehr, and senior Collin Montag.
Tipoff is slated for 6 PM at Eagle Grove Elementary School.
