The Webster City Lynx and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys wrestling teams ventured north on Tuesday night to partake in a triangular at Clear Lake High School. The Lynx entered with a dual record of 7-1, while the Cowboys entered with a dual record of 2-2.
Webster City faced off with Clear Lake first, as the Lynx picked up a 58-18 victory. The dual was highlighted by falls from Carson Doolittle, Cam Phetxoumphone, CJ Hisler, Evan Estlund, Luke Estlund and Austin Mason. Clear Lake only picked up head-to-head wins at 182 lbs, 126 lbs, 132 lbs and 152 lbs.
The Lynx then faced off with Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, as the Cowboys jumped out to a 9-0 lead with the dual beginning at 170 pounds. Both sides would trade blows back and forth, with Webster City reclaiming a 12-9 lead following a forfeit and Jaxon Cherry pin at 220 pounds. The Cowboys ripped off three wins in a row after that, from Daniel Chavez, Dietrich Woodley and Rigo Bobadilla, to go up 24-12. Teams traded 2 wins a piece until the final match at 160 pounds, where 2A #4 Garret Seaba took on Brady Jessen of Webster City, where Seaba picked up the fall in less than 30 seconds to give the Cowboys a 38-33 win.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows then closed out the meet with a matchup against Clear Lake, in which the Cowboys took 54-18 over the Lions. The dual was highlighted with falls from Mason Allen, Daniel Chanvez, Rigo Bobadilla, Ethan Traub, Caleb Seaba, Garrett Seaba and Mack Seaba.
Webster City returns to action on Saturday as they compete at the Don Miller Invitational at Fort Dodge High. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows makes the trip east today to compete in the Battle for Waterloo Tournament.
