Matt Campbell’s Iowa State program capped off early signing day with the highest-ranked recruiting class in the history of Iowa State football, ranked 29th in the nation according to 247 Sports. Iowa State’s class finishes as the 4th-best in the Big 12 behind Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
Despite a rash of decommits from the state of Florida, Iowa State bounced back to land 4-star defensive tackle Dominique Orange out of the Kansas City metro to help cement the Cyclones first-ever top 30 recruiting class.
Notable commitments in Iowa State’s 2022 class include Council Bluffs Lewis Central defensive tackle Hunter Deyo, a consensus 4-star recruit. Others include 4-star receiver Greg Gaines, Sergeant Bluff-Lutton linebacker Jacob Imming, 4-star tight end Andrew Keller, Harlan linebacker Will McLaughlin and Cedar Rapids Prairie tight end Gabe Burkle.
Iowa State takes on the Clemson Tigers in the Cheez-It Bowl on December 29th.
