Eagle Grove wrestling finishes 6th at Bob Roethler Invitational

The Eagle Grove Eagles made the trip north and west on Saturday to compete in the Bob Roethler in Invitational at Emmetsburg High School. Teams competing included Spencer, Okoboji, Lake Mills, Pocahontas Area, Estherville-Lincoln Central, Spirit Lake, Forest City, West Bend-Mallard and Storm Lake.

Kaden Pritchard picked up the only title for Eagle Grove at 120 pounds, picking up pins in all three contests on Saturday, the final over Wes Martin of ELC. Jack Mendoza placed 2nd at 195 pounds, falling to #7 Matthew Wirtz in the title match, with Wirtz picking up the fall in the 2nd period.

Isaac Olson, Dustin Dawson, and Connor Christopher all finished 3rd for Eagle Grove at 220 pounds, 132 pounds and 126 pounds respectively. Damon Richter and Trenton Sorensen placed 5th in the tournament at 285 pounds and 182 pounds respectively, as Andrew Dincklau and Levi Langfitt placed 6th at 145 pounds and 138 pounds.

Next action for the Eagles will be on Saturday, when they compete at the Austin Roberts Memorial Tournament in Spencer.
