There has been no change in Hamilton County’s unemployment rate. The Iowa Workforce Development office reported this week that the rate remained at 3.1 percent for October which was the same rate as in September. There were 6,560 Hamilton County residents who were employed in October while 210 people were unemployed. The unemployment rate for October,2020 was at 2.7 percent.
The unemployment rates for surrounding counties for October included Boone and Franklin counties both at 2.5 percent, Hardin county at 2.9 percent, Story County at 2.1 percent,.Webster county at 3.1 percent and Wright county at 3 percent.. Iowa’s unemployment rate for October was 3.9 percent, down from the September rate at 4 percent.
