The Webster City Lynx football season ended in the Class 4A quarterfinals, but the Lynx continue to see the postseason honors roll in for their highly-successful 2021 season. The Iowa Print Sports Writers Association and the Iowa High School Football Coaches Association released their joint All-State teams on Tuesday for all 7 classes.
Webster City received three honorees on the Class 4A team. The lone first-teamer from the Lynx was senior Truman Klein, who was named to the offensive line unit. Klein was also voted the Class 4A, District 1 Offensive Lineman of the Year as well.
CJ Hisler was named to the Class 4A 2nd-team as a kick returner. Hisler returned 12 kicks for 440 yards and 2 touchdowns, both returns coming from 99 yards. Hisler also cracked the 1,000-yard mark in rushing, with 7 touchdowns and recorded a receiving touchdown and a pick 6 on the season as well.
Jaxon Cherry was named to the Class 4A 3rd-team as a running back. Cherry narrowly missed the 1,000-yard mark with 936 rushing yards, but scored 19 rushing touchdowns. Cherry also recorded a receiving touchdown and was Webster City’s leading tackler with 61 tackles on the season.
