The Eagle Grove boys basketball program suffered a winless season in 2020-21, as they finished the season with an 0-22 record. It was a apart of a sour year for Eagle Grove boys athletics, but with the new school year, and a playoff appearance in football, the basketball team will look to carry the momentum into the winter.
The Eagles return some promising young players to their roster for the upcoming season, as sophomore Drake Canavan is the Eagles leading returning scorer, as he averaged 6.9 points per game as a freshman. Junior Jordan Morris will step into a larger roles as a guard, while Tate Richardson, Cody Gearhart, Orlando Hernandez and John Pamperin. The Eagles roster will have plenty of new faces to the varsity scene this season.
Eagle Grove does lose top scorer Chase Mason from a season ago, the lone Eagle to average double-digit scoring, with 10.1 points per game. Jake Darland and Austin Purcell also depart, with the two averaging 5.1 points per game, and 4.8 points per game respectively. Eagle Grove opens their season against Wright County-rival Clarion-Goldfield-Dows on November 29th.
