At their meeting Monday evening, the Webster City Community School Board discussed a recent work session with the FEH architectural firm on the planned renovation or construction of a new high school building. The high school was constructed over 60 years ago. The structure has seen some improvements since it opened its doors in the early 1960s. Two of those major projects included the renovation of Prem Sahai Auditorium twenty years ago and the new all competition gymnasium in 2014. The main issue is the cost involved and whether or not there would be enough funds for such a project. The Webster City school board voted Monday evening to investigate into the financial capabilities to build a new high school. The discussion on the project will greet two new board members Kelsey Clarken and Dave Stoakes when they will be sworn in later this month.
