The Drake women’s basketball team hosted a rare, second exhibition game on Saturday, as they welcomed in the Minnesota State Mavericks of the Division II ranks. Drake hosted Grand View in their first exhibition game, and much like the first game, the Bulldogs took care of business by a final score of 83-58.
Freshman guard Katie Dinnebier was the Bulldogs top scorer, as the Waukee-native scored a game-high 21 points, knocking down a trio of threes, and recording 4 steals. Grace Berg and Megan Meyer were the other two Bulldogs with double digit scoring, as Berg tallied 12 points, and Meyer contributed 10 points.
Minnesota State was lead in scoring by guard Maddy Olson, who scored a team-high 15 points, knocking down a three, three-pointers of her own. Forward Mikayla Nachazel added 10 points and 7 rebounds as well.
The Drake women open the regular season on Wednesday, as they host former Missouri Valley-rival Creighton at the Knapp Center, tipoff is scheduled for 6 PM.
