The Enhance Hamilton County Foundation announced Friday that it recently granted out $22,785 from its Hamilton County SEED Catalyst Fund. This grant is focused on economic development and community betterment in the communities of Ellsworth, Jewell, Stanhope and Stratford.
The four recipients of the first grants are:
Athens Woods Estate for technology equipment for their project-Destination Stratford-$6000.
Jewell Market, LLC for freezers for their grocery store-$12,000.
Swedish Foundation of Iowa’s Swede Bend Settlement, Incorporated for museum cataloging, archival storage and exhibit gallery-$2079.42.
Stanhope Volunteer Fire Department for turn out gear-$2,706.
The maximum amount that can be awarded for each grant is $12,000 or 40 percent for the project total whichever is less. A grant review committee consisting of representatives from the four communities review the grant applications and then make recommendations to the Enhance Hamilton Count Foundation (EHCF) Board for the distribution of funds.
Applications are due at the end of each quarter to be considered for that quarter’s grants.The next grant deadline is December 31,2021. This grant program is in addition to the annual grant program.
