Hamilton County saw a drop in its unemployment numbers for September. The Iowa Workforce Development reported the unemployment rate was at 3.1 percent for last month. There were 6,450 people working in Hamilton County during September with 200 people unemployed. The unemployment rate in Hamilton County for August was 4.1. percent and 3.4 percent in September,2020. Iowa’s unemployment rate for September was at 4 percent down from the August rate at 4.1 percent.
The unemployment rate for surrounding counties in September included Boone County at 2.4 percent, Franklin County at 2.5 percent, Hardin County at 2.7 percent, Story County at 2.1 percent, Webster County at 3.1 percent and Wright County’s rate was at 3 percent.
