Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy and defensive end Will McDonald were named Big 12 Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week on Monday for their performances against Oklahoma State on Saturday.
Brock Purdy helped engineer Iowa State’s offense in their upset of the 8th-ranked Cowboys on Saturday, completing 27-of-33 passes, for 307 yards and 2 touchdowns, and became Iowa State’s all-time completions leader in the game, as he currently sits with 844.
Will McDonald only finished with 5 tackles, but had back-to-back sacks on Oklahoma State quarterback Spencer Sanders on the Cowboys penultimate drive. McDonald is now 1 sack shy of Jaquan Bailey’s school record in sacks, as he sits with 25 in his career.
Iowa State travels to Morgantown to face West Virginia on Saturday at 1 PM.
