Eagle Grove enters the first round of the playoffs on Friday looking to make their first playoff appearance in a decade more memorable than a one-and-done appearance. They will have a tough task in #4 Dike-New Hartford, as the Wolverines hold a 4-0 series lead against Eagle Grove, dating back to 1996.
The Wolverines are carried by a strong rushing attack, lead by junior Jerek Hall, who has rushed for 1,293 yards and 17 touchdowns on the season. Quarterback Jacob Stockdale has been effective through the air as well, throwing for 1,274 yards and 12 touchdowns, and has been effective in finding his favorite target Devin Kollasch. Kollash has caught 24 passes for 418 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Eagle Grove will look to shake off a tough 51-0 loss to South Hamilton last Friday, and will look for the playoffs to bring a new energy. The Eagles option attack will follow the lead of fullback Jake Jeske, who has run for 491 yards and 2 touchdowns on the season. Roberto Calles and Blake Morgan have both run for over 300 yards on the season, while Tate Richardson and Orlando Hernandez are over 150 yards on the ground each.
Kickoff is slate for 7 PM at Dike-New Hartford High School in Dike.
