Clarion-Goldfield-Dows concluded their regular season on Friday night, by hosting Class 2A #4 OABCIG. The Falcons, back-to-back defending State Champions in Class 1A, had clinched the 2-seed out of Class 2A, District 2 the previous week.
The scoring started in the 1st quarter, with Falcons quarterback Beckett DeJean finding Josh Peters on 4th down for an 8-yard touchdown pass, to put OABCIG up 8-0. The Cowboys would respond with a 12-yard touchdown run by Nevan Foss, to bring it within 8-6. The Falcons would answer right back, on a 3-yard touchdown run by Beckett Dejean, to put OABCIG up 14-6. OABCIG would score first in the 2nd quarter, on a 32-yard touchdown pass from Beckett DeJean to Beau Nieman, to put the Falcons up 22-6.
The Falcons would then bust a big play, on a 91-yard touchdown pass from DeJean to Easton Harms to put OABCIG up 28-6. The DeJean-Harms connection struck again soon thereafter, on a 15-yard touchdown pass to put the Falcons up 34-6. The Cowboys would respond with a deep pass from Preston Gardner to Nevan Foss for a 41-yard touchdown pass to bring the score to 34-12 at halftime. OABCIG’s offense would pour it on to begin the 2nd half, putting the game out of reach as the Falcons took home a 56-26 win.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows concludes its season with a 3-5 record.
