After three years of dominating the North Central Conference, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows took a step back after graduating many important pieces to their state tournament teams. However, the Cowgirls still have a shot at clinching a share of the conference title with an upset of #14 Humboldt on Thursday.
The Wildcats are lead by junior outside hitter Addie Thompson and junior setter Livvy Becker. Thompson leads Humboldt in kills with 221, while Becker leads the team in assists with 599. Tayla Wempen, Marissa Kaufman, Kayla Gieber and Shelbie Heinz have all crossed the 100 kill mark on the season, while Heinz leads the team in blocks with 37.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows will go as they star Lexie Lane will go, as she has amassed 279 kills on the season, while Senior Summer Traub has accumulated 102 kills. Indy Johnson saw a lot of time at setter against GHV, as she had 25 assists on the season.
First serve is scheduled for 7:30 PM at Humboldt High School.
