Clarion-Goldfield-Dows took a rare, late-season detour from their conference schedule as they traveled north to take on the Cardinals of Garner-Hayfield-Ventura. The Cardinals entered Tuesday night with a record of 18-7 on the season.
The Cowgirls got out of the chute with a 25-22 victory in set 1, before Garner-Hayfield-Ventura battled back to take the next 2 sets, by scores of 25-19 in Set 2 and Set 3. The Cowgirls pushed GHV to the brink in set 4, pushing the Cardinals into extra sets, before GHV sealed a 28-26 win, to take the match 3-1.
Lexie Lane had another prolific night for the Cowgirls, as she finished with 20 kills on the night, junior Kennedy Trca finished with 10 kills as well. Freshman Indy Johnson lead the way with 25 assists, while Lane and Trca finished with 2 blocks each.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows wraps up its regular season on Thursday, as they travel to Humboldt to face the Wildcats, with a chance to clinch a share of the conference title with a win.
