The South Hamilton volleyball team will head south to face off with the newest members of the Heart of Iowa Conference in the Perry Bluejays on Tuesday night. The Bluejays jumped from the Raccoon River Conference to the Heart of Iowa for the 2021-2022 school year, and hold an 11-22 record on the season.
The Bluejays have been lead by the hitting duo of Peyton Tunik and Ashley Cerna in 2021, as Tunik leads the team in kills with 143, while Cerna is second with 127 kills. Taylor Atwell has been productive from her setter spot with 382 assists, while Kimberly Castillo and Callie Steva are the top blockers for the Bluejays.
South Hamilton enters Tuesday’s match with an 11-15 record, riding behind the play of senior hitters Caleigh Hewitt and Mackenzy Grady, who have collected 85 kills and 79 kills respectively. The Hawks two-setter system of Trista Strohman and Paige Evans has garnered nearly 30 assists on the season, as Caleigh Hewitt has also been a defensive monster, with 32 blocks on the season.
First serve is scheduled for 7:30 PM at Perry High School, with live coverage on 95.7 KQWC.
