The South Hamilton Hawks come into Friday with a 2-4 record, but are just 8 points from holding a 4-2 record on the season. A 4-point, last-second loss to Woodward-Granger and a 4-point defensive chess match against South Hamilton down, but not out of the playoff picture as they host the Cougars of Manson-Northwest Webster.
Manson-Northwest Webster is fresh off a tough 20-18 loss to Eagle Grove on Friday, which saw the Cougars playoff hopes suddenly put in limbo. The Cougars are lead offensively by the trio of quarterback Shawn Kenyon, running back Tate Bianchi, and receiver Brodie Anderson. Kenyon has thrown for nearly 1,000 yards and 8 touchdowns, but with 10 interceptions. Tate Bianchi has rushed for 832 yards and 6 touchdowns, while Brodie Anderson has caught 19 balls for 337 yards and 4 touchdowns.
South Hamilton enters Friday’s game continuing to ground and pound with their wishbone offense. Landon Skartvedt leads the Hawks rushing attack with 783 yards and 7 touchdowns, while fullback Austin Busch has 300 yards and 4 touchdowns on the season. Defensively, Skartvedt has been the Hawks leader with 33.5 tackles, as well as 3 interceptions and one returned for a touchdown. Senior defensive end Brent Greenfield has 23 tackles and 4 tackles for loss on the season as well.
Kickoff will be at 7 PM at Bill Taylor Field in Jewell.
